Open Studios: an Introduction to Circular Design Thinking
A chance to experience what Duke Makes does, chat to us and and see our research first hand
Step inside the studio of digital fabrication agency Duke Makes. Become part of our ongoing quest to reduce waste and sustainably create, in collaboration with Off-Cut Studio.
You’ll join us for a tour around the workshop where you will see first hand the new research we’re doing in the world of digital design and manufacturing. Learn how we reuse waste material from other parts of the studio and help us turn it into brand new material.
We’ll share insights into our design, prototype and manufacturing processes using our wide range of machinery, including our plastic recycling station.
You will:
- Get hands on creating a sheet of recycled plastic that can be used on other machines
- Use the shredder to prepare plastics for the heat press
- Select colours and create a custom layout
- Contribute to the battle against unnecessary waste
This event is open to anyone with an interest in digital manufacturing, tech or circular design and sustainability.
A free drink is, of course, included at Sheaf St afterwards
